Agnosticism inside the Mind- ‘A Freethinker’s Approach’

With new information on the table, strings and unending bytes of information, scattered throughout the new world- presenting us with the opportunities to seek answers to the truth. Today, the concept of Agnosticism is rather on the far end of the spectrum- by which I mean, that ideas as such are regarded as completely impractical, unreasonably demonizing and silly. Well, there have been more words than just a selective literature to be associated with it.

The concept of agnosticism states that nothing is or can be known on the nature of God or a supernatural being. Trying to formulate rationality based on such a simple sentence is what defines the art of expressible and creative life I presume. The world, the entire milky way- is so vast and colossal that it would be quite pointless to think that we are at the center of everything, or all that is-things which we are not. Humans seemed to have evolved in an extensively withdrawn, prolifically superstitious society, governed by things which are not, contrary to things which are- for example, let’s take for example, the scientific community, and its précis on the concept of evolution- well that is mind changing, for me at least.

To be chained to the ways of the ancient world, with traditions requiring us to do this and not do that, and then do this again, and so the cycle continues. I would call it an ‘indeterministic variable’- one that contemplates life to extremism. Growing up in a stringent and a religious society, has lead me to question the realm of my own pacifism, one that always compels me to conform, for the betterment of the larger population. And as a child, one is limited to the vastness relating to free-thinking, eventually self-identification would become a really difficult concept- although many schools and institutions would claim that each individual has his/her own abilities to rationalize and engage in- to the extent that is not damaging his/her own conscience.

Well, partly, rather fully nonsensical, as many realists would tend to have a staunch approach towards it. My favorite persona, in this case for morality- would incontestably be Prof Richard Dawkins. His ideas, one’s which are quite simple if one is just able to rationalize amiss such chaos- of knowledge that is false, the outcome of which- an active population heading towards the path which in theory- is undeniably a blind road.

So, trying to rationalize, with an advanced approach- contrary to conventional and majorly pre-historic methods solely depending on stories- and stories are nothing but a body of fiction, entailing the outreach of the human mind. A creative mind, in this case, is capable of producing Literature that may, for a moment- be considered a universal truth, and as time passes by, more seems to be invested towards the very idea of fairy tales, myths and stories from the past. I would call it a societal flow, which ought to have happened, and taking into consideration, that in the ancient times, everything that could not be explained was ‘magic’ after all.

And for scientific pioneers such as Galileo and Sir Isaac Newton to make their ground breaking discoveries in the search for a universal truth- one that is objective, and is supported by concrete evidence, as opposed to the abstract reality of things.

As the clock runs prudently, with each ray- the rays of night telling me to be inside the room- the room which has everyone contained, for as long as I can remember, and tomorrow, to wake up and say, and be sure in saying that I am a freethinker, seems quite naïve. For a mind, to be unaltered by pre-dispositions, and ‘flattery truth’ is rather trying to walk on water these days. I wouldn’t say that people are continually being trapped into conformity that they forget their own identities, but the entirely of the concept is based on the fact that we as individuals, as we have evolved throughout the ages- and with endless scope for new thoughts- why would one need to be chained to such unwelcoming ideas and approaches to life.

The idea here is to grow, and in such a scientifically advantageous society, one should at least make use of, or rather be aware of evidence based approaches to life. Which leads me to write, the very reality of supernatural- one which, I would never seem to have encountered, or in rationality- things would rather not make much sense, compelling me to strive towards concrete based testing.

As a writer, it gets significantly weary and unappealing at times, in trying to journey with the characters inside a Novel or Poetry for that matter, as the very essence of life is based on singularity- and genetically- we are all different in each stance- the very construct of our genes, and to let it- be overwhelmed by such ideas- or societal expectations, seems to be a major fall for our kind. And tomorrow, if it shall be, let everyone write- the art that is going on inside each one’s mind, and in each paper or the next sophisticated manuscript, one shall discover the truth, the eloquent ideas surfacing inside the mind- and know that these ideas are not culturally or psychologically tied to any already existing literature. The very examination of truth, and what is better, if not for the blind to be taken to the well, and the non-conformant be given a pill- one that may convince him to believe in a supernatural phenomenon after all.
