Anne Sexton and a Flower- A Poem
Poetry has indeed occupied majority of my times these days. One of the poets that I would greatly attribute to such ecstatic and creative writing will undeniably be Anne Sexton. She was an American Poet with her out liners and successes in confessional Poetry. A large part of my life seems to revolve around this, in deterministic culture, which in turn allows me to share my thoughts that are pouring eloquently. Although Anne had a short span of life, she left a lasting legacy which will forever be treasured. This poem is for Anne Sexton.
Anne Sexton and a Flower
It is red and grey, but white has always pleased From the mountains that once held, or the lakes that once fed Thunder and nothing will a make thee any duller Or the construct which has always pleased Anne Sexton But this day, plant not wealth or wishes Or the unforgiving words that ought to take the lands away And when she writes, her mind is so creative Words will want to marry her, and she is going through a lot these days Anne I will say to you, but never will a soul so subtle have to suffer Every beautiful thing, but the commoner never saw or the one beside Her writings will take you away, and those words And every thought will give us love, untouched, understated And there is nothing more in life To that pleasant account balance, no one will remember Or that party which made everyone so drunk, unable to identify, Or the person who so forcibly wants to find a new lover But it is midday and Anne and I have so many things to talk about The typewriter infront of her, it looks at her like something calamitous were to ignite, like the ones yesterday And she does not stop writing until the pages plead for her to stop A blank note on the first page, she is thinking about it everyday And to the new thing that brings us down everyday She is such free in this fastened and frustrated society, a free spirit Feeling like a burden to everyone and everything, but it shall never be Her voice, when she reads her poems, And that emotional unveil at every word of it To her beautiful soul, she is a flower which will never be forgotten
